GFH Forever/ CLAUDIO:450: International workshop on stage art

The next project of The Darina Takova Foundation is a workshop with Deda Cristina Colonna- an esteemed choreographer, dancer, director and expert in baroque movements and gestures onstage. She will lead a workshop on the importance of the link between speech and body behavior in the baroque opera repertoire. The final performance of the workshop will be in two parts: the first one will be build by arias from G.F. Handel, the second one will be build on segments from “L’Incoronazione di Poppea” which would be a way to celebrate the 450th anniversary of Claudio Monteverdi.

INTERNATIONAL MASTERCLASS WITH LUCIANA D’INTINO

The Darina Takova Foundation’s International Masterclass of Luciana D’Intino took place in Sofia, Bulgaria in the period 31.10-05.11. 2016. . Maestra D’Intino gave a masterclass working on arias and ensambles from the world operatic repertoire. Participants from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Italy, Chech Republic, Germany, and Mexico worked on perfection their performing skills for one week and gave an extraordinary gala-concert in one of the most elegant venues in Sofia.

International Masterclass with Carlo Colombara

Following the success of his previous masterclasses, Carlo Colombara is returning to Bulgaria for his new encounter with the young opera singers. The masterclass is organized with the great support of the National Palace of Culture, where it will take place in the period June 9-15 2016. The audition will be held on June 9 at 11 am. Candidates must present two arias by choice.

Darina Takova Foundation announces collaboration with Varna International

We are pleased to announce Varna International’s 5th Opera Academy, featuring multi-cast, fully-staged productions of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, and Opera Scenes performances, accompanied by a professional orchestra. The Academy will take place in Bulgaria, in collaboration with the Stara Zagora State Opera, June 10 to July 4, 2016.

Opera academy applicants accepted into this unique four-week program will receive expert training under the tutelage of the academy’s internationally renowned faculty in collaboration with a professional Symphony Orchestra.

Varna International is excited to announce its collaboration this year with the renowned Bulgarian Soprano, Darina Takova, founder of the Darina Takova Foundation in Sofia, Bulgaria. Takova has invested in the next generation of musicians offering master classes and counseling young opera singers from all over the world. In the summer of 2016, Soprano Darina Takova will collaborate with Varna International to provide world class musical development to the next generation of opera talent.

La Rondine in Stara Zagora

The International “Don Carlo” Workshop in Sofia

In November 2015 The Darina Takova Foundation presented The International “Don Carlo” Workshop with Luciana D’Intino and Roberto Scandiuzzi in Sofia, Bulgaria. The workshop took place in The National Palace of Culture in Sofia and gave the participants from Bulgaria, Serbia, The Czech Republic and Italy the amazing opportunity to work with two of the greatest Verdian artists, worldwide famous for their portrayal of Pricess Eboli and King Filip II.

International DON CARLO Workshop

After various masterclasses for young opera singers with many of the most esteemed artists in the opera world, the Darina Takova Foundation is proud to annouce the unique “Don Carlo” workshop in Sofia Bulgaria in the period 23/30 November 2015. This exclusive event is dedicated to the late Nicola Ghiuselev- one of the greatest basses of Bulgaria and a memorable performer of King Phillip II. The workshop will challenge young artist from around the world to work on all of the principle roles in Giuseppe Verdi’s “Don Carlo” for which, the Darina Takova Foundation has decided to invite the Italian opera stars Luciana D’Intino and Roberto Scandiuzzi- two of the biggest performers of the roles of Princess Eboli and King Philip II, to work with the young artists on the technical and interpretive challenges of this title. As artists with international careers and lots of experience on some of the biggest stages in the world, we believe that their knowledge and artistic charisma will be of great help to the young participants on the program.
There will be a selection of 3 or 4 young artists for each of the 7 principle roles in “Don Carlo”. They will be divided in two groups. Both groups will have daily lessons with Luciana D’Intino and Roberto Scandiuzzi and the esteemed Bulgarian pianists Vyara Shuperlieva (Salzburg) and Vesko Stambolov (Barcelona). During the workshop, the students will have the opportunity to work on the entire role for which they have been selected. At the final concert, each student will perform one segment from “Don Carlo” (aria, duet, trio, etc.)

Carlo Colombara’s Masterclass

It includes everyday individual lessons with Carlo Colombara from 12th-16th May and a final concert on May 17th, on which you will be able to sing alongside with maestro Colombara.

The submission fee for the masterclass in 300 euro. The payment should be made on the bank account of the Darina Takova Foundation.

Singers from Sofia will have an audition in Sofia on May 12th, we ask the foreign participants to send us some information about their artistic background, including an audio/video recording of them performing, so we could make the selection in the best way possible.
